Director of Instructional Design and Development, Anatolia College
Haido Samaras is the Director of Instructional Design and Development at Anatolia College, the Academic Dean of the Center for Talented Youth Greece Program and has been a Computer Instructor at Anatolia College of Thessaloniki for the past 27 years. She holds a BSc in Mathematics, a BA degree in English Language and Literature, a Masters degree in Information Systems and a PhD in the field of Multimedia Learning. She has published widely on E-learning and Multimedia Learning Environments in journals and conference proceedings and is one of the co-authors of the book “Matters of learning and teaching” (2005) and of the book “Key Factors and New Directions of Multimedia Learning Design” (2010). She has received around 50 international citations. She has been involved with the creation of web sites and multimedia environments and has taught all levels of Computer Instruction. She was the creator and coordinator of ACSTAC, a student-simulated science and technology conference that has been hosted annually at Anatolia College for the past six years and of the Math and Logic competition, an original puzzle-based competition which has been hosted for the last five years. Her research work has been awarded for its excellence by the AACE (Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education).
